Hailing from the Skellefteå area in Västerbotten, Utmarken was founded in 2015 by Mathias Gyllengahm after he got his hands on a nyckelharpa. Their musical foundation blends Scandinavian folk music with classic hard rock with swedish lyrics. The band has released three albums, debuting in 2016, and has performed live in Sweden, Norway, and Germany. The year 2019 stands out as particularly eventful in the band’s history, as they served as opening act for Raubtier on their Swedish tour and achieved viral success on Spotify.
Their latest album, Svåra år, was released in 2021, cementing the band’s loyal fanbase. Now, five years later, it is time for the follow-up album, I gudarnas tjänst.
The album features Idun Gyllengahm, on the track ”Aldrig hem igen,” and Pär Hulkoff contributes the tagelharpa on ”Rusta”.
Cover art was created by Mark Seidewitz (@dukespook).
The album is released via Silent Future Distribution.
